Our Technologies
Our Technology
Just one of the many aspects of our practice here at Orn Family Dentistry that truly sets us apart from the rest is our emphasis on using the latest in dental technology. We are constantly seeking out new tools and techniques that will not only help our patients get better results, but will help make procedures more comfortable as well. We work with patients of all ages, from children to adults to seniors, and we make sure that no matter your age, you have a great experience every time you visit our Jamestown, ND office. Our technology helps ensure that you leave with a smile, every time you are here!
We are proud to offer the following technologies:
The Latest Technology for Your Comfort & Healthiest Smile
Solea®
Does the word “filling” fill you with dread? Do you associate dental work with pain? At our practice, we use the Solea® Dental Laser, which eliminates the need for anesthesia in many procedures, such as fillings. The laser is controlled by a foot pedal, which allows for increased precision and speed. This means procedures can be performed without blood and without causing pain for the patient. We’d say you’ll feel the difference, but you may not feel anything at all!
CEREC®
Traditionally, it would take several visits to create and place a crown. The dentist would have to take impressions, send those impressions to a lab to manufacture the crown, and then have the patient come back to put the crown in place.
Not anymore! CEREC® is a technology that uses CAD/CAM technology to create custom crowns quickly, so you can have your crown created and placed in the same visit! We take digital impressions of your smile (more accurate and less messy than the gooey impressions of the past) and fabricate the perfect crown for your smile. With CEREC®, we can make receiving a crown easy and convenient for our patients.
Digital X-Rays
Digital x-rays are much safer for patients than traditional x-rays, because they emit significantly less radiation. Plus, they are quick; there’s no waiting time for the images to develop. We can view the x-rays immediately on a computer monitor and can rotate them to get a complete view of your smile. Then, the images can be easily stored, saved, or shared with your insurance company if needed. Digital x-rays help us diagnose cavities, impacted teeth, and other dental issues that can’t be caught during a visual exam.
Intraoral Camera
An intraoral camera is a pen-like device with a tiny camera at the tip, which allows Dr. Orn to get a much more detailed look at the condition of your smile. Using the camera, she is able to see easy-to-miss cavities, symptoms of developing gum disease, hidden plaque and calculus, and other dental problems. Therefore, she can make more accurate diagnoses and help you get the treatment you need for your healthiest smile!
